Reporting

Schools are required to formally report student achievement and progress to parents/carers twice per school year for each student enrolled at the school.

Schools must report directly against the Victorian Curriculum F-10 achievement standards.

  • Both student achievement and progress must be included in the report. This means that for each curriculum area taught, the report includes:
  • a teacher judgement(s)
  • an indication of progress since the curriculum area was last reported on
  • a five-point scale.

At Eltham Primary School, parents also receive Ongoing Reporting. Each term, students will complete up to 5 learning tasks that classroom teachers will report on directly to parents.

This will include:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Mathematics – number
  • Mathematics – other

Each Learning Task will include a description of the task and what students were able to achieve against a rubric of achievement levels. Where possible, digital work samples will be uploaded to Compass and can be accessed at home.

Teachers will write a personalised comment for each learning task that will include an indication of effort applied to the task and areas for future learning.
