Schools are required to formally report student achievement and progress to parents/carers twice per school year for each student enrolled at the school.
Schools must report directly against the Victorian Curriculum F-10 achievement standards.
- Both student achievement and progress must be included in the report. This means that for each curriculum area taught, the report includes:
- a teacher judgement(s)
- an indication of progress since the curriculum area was last reported on
- a five-point scale.
At Eltham Primary School, parents also receive Ongoing Reporting. Each term, students will complete up to 5 learning tasks that classroom teachers will report on directly to parents.
This will include:
- Reading
- Writing
- Mathematics – number
- Mathematics – other
Each Learning Task will include a description of the task and what students were able to achieve against a rubric of achievement levels. Where possible, digital work samples will be uploaded to Compass and can be accessed at home.
Teachers will write a personalised comment for each learning task that will include an indication of effort applied to the task and areas for future learning.
